Victorian Art Glass Basket Green w/ White Craquelle, Twisted Thorn Handle 1890's

This art glass basket measures approximately 6″ tall, 6 1/8″ wide, and 6 3/8″ long. It features green glass with an outer layer of white craquelle. I’ve seen this decor called speckled, crackled, spangled, spattered and even overshot. It gives the basket a very appealing and bright lime green color. The applied handle is clear and twisted with thorns. The edge of the basket has tight ruffles, and there is a rough pontil on the base. It is difficult to determine where this was made, as nearly identical art glass was made in England and other countries in Europe in the late 1800’s. I feel it was most likely made by one of the Bohemian companies. Wherever the basket was made, it is simply gorgeous, and excellent quality. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or damage.
