DESCRIPTION
This Multiple Listing is set up for individual purchases of Irwin / Ace / Hanson Carbon Steel STANDARD hand taps in fractional sizes from 1/4″ to 1″ in coarse and fine and all 3 tap styles.  The photos may make it look like they have a TiN coating due to editing but they all have standard bare metal factory finish. Some have black phosphate on the threading teeth which does not show up well in photos. Again
NONE of these are Tin coated.
TAPER TAPS:
Taper taps are for the purpose of starting new threads in low-tensile metals mild steel , aluminum, brass or plastic.
PLUG TAPS:
Designed for cleaning up or extending old existing threads in low-tensile mild steel , aluminum, brass or plastic. Not intended for starting or cutting new threads
BOTTOM TAPS:
Designed for cleaning up or extending existing threads in blind hole applications in low-tensile mild steel, brass , aluminum or plastic. Not intended for starting or cutting new threads
Note: Appearance of the tap shipped may differ slightly from photos due to cosmetic design changes made by Irwin over time and the fact that we have some OLD STOCK sizes in inventory marked ACE AND HANSON (old stock inventory) . Some of the older taps have black phosphate coated flutes

Ideal for routine maintenance , hand threading, repair work and rethreading where high accuracy and thread tolerance thread are NOT critical . Straight flutes are ground to provide rapid chip removal for efficient rethreading in mild steel, brass, aluminum or plastic. These taps produce a class 2B thread
Returns will be accepted if buyer orders in error/wrong size. No returns after 30 days. Used or broken taps are not returnable. Not guaranteed against breakage or any other failure and will not be considered defective.
