2 Vintage Dip Pens
Both have No2 nibs and Mother of Pearl and Gold barrels
I DO NOT KNOW THE KARAT CONTENT OF THE BARRELS OR NIBS
The first has the profile of a Mohawk ‘chief’ carved at top and a scroll pattern on the gold part of the barrel
Measures: 7 1/2″
Nib is Miller Bros Red Ink Pen No.2
Writing is fading by says: Mohawk Jrau (SP?).  Bottom of barrel has dents that may be there to hold the nib in.
The other has tile type pattern on the gold part of the barrel and plain mother of pearl which has wear to it
Measures: 7 1/4″
Nib is H.M. Smith and Co. New York No.2
This has a retractable nib, but I can not get it to retract all the way and will not ‘force’ it.  The MOP part of the barrel has some wear and possible damage, but this may also be from the manufacturing process.
CONDITION: As pictured.  Please look carefully: Plain barrel has wear and the nib does nnot retract completely.  The Mohawk one’s writing on front is disappearing.  These are used items with blemishes, scratches and wear typical of its age and purpose.
